Mercury Interactive Rises After Earnings Warning

was up 5.4% in preopen Island trading after warning late Monday it expects third-quarter earnings per share to be 10 to 12 cents, below the consensus estimate of 14 cents, as a result of "continued economic deterioration" and the business impact of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The Web-site management software maker said it expects third-quarter revenue of $82 million to $84 million vs. analysts' expectations of $93 million.
