NEW YORK (
) -- Professional social networking site
launched a new mobile application for
Android smartphones Thursday.
To get the app, which is still in beta mode, users first need to join the LinkedIn for Android group on the company's Web site.
The LinkedIn app allows users to view updates from their peers, establish new connections and respond to invitations.
LinkedIn already has mobile apps for
Research In Motion's
iPhone and Palm Pre users.
LinkedIn has more than 85 million users in over 200 countries, according to the company.
