Lattice Semi Trims Revenue Outlook

The company cites weak customer demand.

trimmedits fourth-quarter guidance Thursday, blaming weakdemand from communications customers.

The Hillsboro, Ore., maker of programmable logicchips said sales in the fourth quarter will be 2% to 4%lower than the $63.5 million revenue it posted in thethird quarter.

Lattice had originally said fourth-quarter saleswould be flat to up 4% sequentially.

The chipmaker attributed the shortfall to weaker-than-expected turns -- orders received during thequarter for shipment in the same quarter --particularly from the company's majortelecommunications customers.

Shares of Lattice fell 7.4%, or 50 cents, to $6.20in extended trading.

Lattice also said that total operating expenses inthe fourth quarter will range between $35 million and$36 million, including $1.1 million in stock-basedcompensation, versus its pervious guidance of $36million.
