Total revenue in the third quarter rose 24% year-over-year to $25.1 million, but did fall 17% from the second quarter.
Earnings rose 41% from last year to $4.82 million, or 14 cents a share. Excluding items, KongZhong would have had a profit of 16 cents, 6 cents higher than estimates.
For the fourth quarter, revenue should be between $20.5 million and $21.5 million.
Shares of KongZhong were up 6% to $8.38 Thursday.
