Emerson Gets BP Refinery Pact

signed a deal naming it the main contractor on a project to replace the process-automation systems at

BP's

three largest U.S. refineries.

The contract covers 18 units at refineries in Whiting, Ind., Texas City, Texas, and Carson, Calif. Combined, the facilities refine about 1 million barrels of crude oil each day. The plants account for roughly 7% of the total U.S. refining capacity.

Financial terms of the contract weren't disclosed.

Shares of Emerson were up 91 cents, or 1.1%, to $82.98 Friday.
