Video-game publisher Electronics Arts (ERTS) was up 0.1% in preopen Island trading. After the close Thursday, the company posted a fiscal fourth-quarter loss of 9 cents per share before items, ahead of the Thomson Financial/First Call consensus of a 14-cent loss. The company posted a profit of 3 cents per share a year ago.

Electronic Arts expects 2002 operating income to rise 75% to 90% as the industry enters an upswing with new game consoles coming on the market.
