signed $1 billion in new business agreements with public and private sector clients.

The largest part of the new business comes from a $713 million contract expansion of the company's technology and services relationship with the U.K. government's employment service.

EDS also signed a four-year agreement with

General Motors

(GM) - Get General Motors Company Report

to provide Web hosting for the automaker's business-to-business and business-to-employee initiatives.

Additionally, EDS received a seven-year, $102 million contract with the state of Oklahoma to introduce a new Medicaid management information system with a Web-based interface and an eight-year, $92 million contract with the state of Colorado to develop a Web-enabled system to manage the state's eligibility determination for human services and health care programs.
