Dollar soars to NIS 4.632 ahead of options expiry, up 5% since Jan 1

The dollar has gained 9.5% since Klein lowered key lending rates by 2% in late December

Shekel devaluation is continuing this morning with the dollar opening at a record NIS 4.635. the gains have slowed slightly and the dollar is now trading at NIS 4.632 ¿ up 0.4% from yesterday¿s representative exchange rate of NIS 4.612.

The dollar has gained 5% since the beginning of the month and 9.5%, 40 agorot, since Bank of Israel governor David Klein dramatically lowered the key lending rate by 2% to 3.8% in late December.
