The network hardware and software maker said total net sales for the quarter fell 28%, from $34.9 million to $25.2 million.

Digi estimated second-quarter earnings per share before amortization of intangibles and acquisition-related expenses would be in the range of 1 cent to 3 cents and in the range of a 5-cent profit to a loss of 7 cents on a reported basis. For the full fiscal year of 2002, Digi reiterated its earlier guidance of earnings per share before amortization of intangibles and acquisition-related expenses to be in the range of 22 cents to 31 cents, and in the range of a loss of 7 cents to a 1-cent profit on a reported basis.
