after its earlier bid was topped by

Hewlett-Packard's (HPQ) - Get Report $1.6 billion proposal

on Monday,

Bloomberg

reports.

Citing a person familiar with the matter,

says Dell could send its increased offer in the coming days.

Bloomberg

A Dell spokesman declined to comment for
