The Federal Trade Commission has finalized a settlement with Google (GOOGL - Get Report) related to its probe of YouTube for allegedly violating federal data privacy laws relating to children, according to a published report.

A story in the Washington Post Friday evening, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter, reported Google will pay a multi-million dollar fine, but the amount and the details of the FTC settlement are not known at this time.

The Washington Post also reported the settlement found that Google did not adequately protect children under 13 who used its video service and that it collected their data improperly.
