Computer Sciences Tops Third-Quarter Estimates

Computer Sciences (CSC) earned $68.2 million, or 40 cents a share, in its fiscal second quarter, topping analysts' expectations by 2 cents.

The El Segundo, Calif., computer consultant and outsourcer said revenue rose 11% to $2.8 billion in the quarter.

Computer Sciences expects earnings at the high end of a range of 40 cents to 50 cents a share; analysts were expecting earnings of 52 cents a share. For 2002, the company expects to earn between $2 and $2.10 a share on revenue growth of 9% to 11%; analysts were expecting earnings of $2.28 a share.
