Compaq (CPQ) slipped 0.3% after J.P. Morgan cut it EPS estimate on the personal computer maker to 50 cents from 62 cents for 2001 and to 85 cents from $1.00 for 2002. Morgan pointed to soft demand, weakness in Europe and the prospects of a worsening price war.
