Blake was formerly the chairman, president and chief executive at

. He succeeds Philip A. Hewes, who served as interim president and CEO starting in December following the resignation of Nicholas Pontikes.
Hewes, a 23-three-year company veteran, will stay with Comdisco, a technology services provider, as a member of senior management and the board.
In early January, Comdisco
eliminated its managed network services business, and 96 of 3,200 jobs, because it said the operation wasn't growing as projected and no longer fit into the company's strategy. Later that month, Comdisco posted
first-quarter earnings that beat Wall Street's estimates.
Shares of Comdisco, which is based in Rosemont, Ill., jumped $1.16, or 10.2%, to $12.55 in recent
