that the networker expects double-digit sales growth in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa in 2002.
Nigel Pink, the director of business development for those area, also told the news agency that Cisco is "open for acquisitions" in the region as part of the company's global strategy.
Pink, interviewed at an economic forum in Bulgaria, said it is too soon to say whether the Sept. 11 attacks and the subsequent U.S. military strikes in Afghanistan would affect Cisco's business in the Middle East.
