CIMA Labs (CIMA) earned $3.8 million, or 24 cents a share, in the third quarter, topping analysts' expectations on strong revenue.
But the Eden Prairie, Minn., pharmaceuticals firm said fourth-quarter revenue will be below forecasts because of order deferrals. The company was expected to post revenue between $9 million and $11 million in the quarter.
CIMA's third-quarter revenue rose to $8.8 million from $5.4 million a year ago. The company had been expected to earn 23 cents a share in the third quarter.
