NEW YORK (
Barnes & Noble
may be readying itself to launch a new Nook ahead of the holiday season.
The book-selling giant sent out a press invite for a Nook event taking place in New York City on Nov. 7. The invitation did not detail plans for the event, but featured the Nook logo.
This comes after Amazon unveiled its own tablet device and three new Kindle e-readers last month. The Kindle Fire, priced at $199, undercuts that of the Nook Color by $50. It is highly expected Barnes & Noble will now be forced to lower the price of its device.
