fell slightly in pre-market trading after rumors that the arrival of its eagerly awaited iOS 4.2 software may be pushed back.

Apple is rumored to be releasing the newest version of its iPhone and iPad operating software next week. The delay may be due to WiFi issues, as previous reports had alleged that iOS 4.2 would debut Friday.

Shares of Apple fell 0.33% in pre-market trading Friday to $315.55.

Yahoo!

(YHOO)

is preparing to layoff around 10% of its employees in December,

All Things Digital

reported Thursday. The layoffs will be centered around Yahoo!'s product group.

Shares of Yahoo! fell 0.54% in pre-market trading Friday to $16.71.

Activision

(ATVI) - Get Report

announced Thursday

it had sold 5.6 million copies

of its new

Call of Duty: Black Ops

title for $360 million on the first day of its release, setting a new video game record. The game's precedessor,

Call of Duty: Modern Warcraft 2

previously held the record, selling 4.7 million copies last year on its first day of release.

Shares of Activision dipped 0.32% in pre-market trading Friday to $11.85.

Lenovo

will launch a tablet computer called the LePad in the U.S. sometime next year, CEO Yang Yuanqing told

Friday. Pricing isn't yet available for the device, the company said.

Facebook

announced Thursday it was building a new data center in North Carolina. This is the second data center that the company is building. Facebook is expected to invest around $450 million in the facility, which will create around 250 construction jobs during its 18-month building phase.

Other web companies including

and Apple have also chosen North Carolina to build their data centers.
