Apple may be opening a store in New York City's Grand Central Terminal.
The 23,000 square-foot store would be Apple's biggest retail location, ahead of its 16,300 square foot spot in London's Covent Garden.
A massive store in Grand Central would help alleviate crowds at Apple's landmark Fifth Avenue glass cube store, located about a mile from the terminal. The new store would also serve as a high-profile hub in a place where more than 750,000 commuters a day -- many of them from affluent communities in nearby Westchester County and Connecticut -- pass through.
Apple's 300 stores worldwide are instrumental in helping the firm spread its unique culture, educate customers about its products and drive revenue growth.
Revenue from Apple's retail locations during the third quarter rose to $3.5 billion, up 36% from the year prior.
Shares of Apple were rising 1% in late morning trading on Tuesday.
