NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of Apple (AAPL) - Get Report rose 0.07% in pre-market trading Friday -- the company's App Store crossed a new mark.

Apple now boasts more than 300,000 apps in its App Store, according to a new report by app store analytics firm

. Of these, more than 38,000 are iPad apps. While some reports announced that Apple had reached this milestone earlier last month, those numbers included inactive apps.

In other Apple-related news, the company announced Thursday that it will begin accepting app submissions for its new Mac App Store. The store is expected to be launched in January 2011, and will be similar to the iOS App Store in format.

Shares of

Activision

(ATVI) - Get Report

rose 1.63% in pre-market trading Friday. The company beat third-quarter earnings estimates Thursday on

strong sales of its core titles

Adjusted profit rose to 12 cents per share, from 4 cents per share last year. Analysts had expected profit of 9 cents per share. Adjusted revenue jumped to $857 million from $755 million during the year-ago quarter. Analysts had expected revenue of $747 milllion.

Google

(GOOG) - Get Report

and digital agency

VivaKi

have renewed their 2008 partnership, and will launch a new platform for buying mobile and video display ads, the companies announced Thursday. The partnership will make use of Google's recent acquisitions including

Invite Media

and

Teracent

.

Shares of Google were up 0.28% to $626 in pre-market trading Friday.

Dell

(DELL) - Get Report

is scrapping its 25,000 employee BlackBerrys, and replacing them with the upcoming Dell Venue Pro, it told the

Wall Street Journal

Thursday. The smartphones run

Microsoft's

(MSFT) - Get Report

Windows Phone 7 operating software. The company also plans to offer Android-based smartphones, as well.

Dell fell 0.48% in pre-market trading Friday to $14.45.
