Bankoff's responsibilities will include directing business operations, managing Netscape.com's growth and its small-business oriented site, Netbusiness.
Bankoff formerly served as a director in AOL's electronic commerce business development group and as a director of business development for the
, an Internet content company incubator.
Current Netscape head Jim Martin will continue at AOL in a new assignment.
