Amdocs

(NYSE:DOX) today began the process of cutting about 900 jobs.

The company announced the cutbacks of 8% to 10% of its workforce three weeks ago, when lowering expectations for the third and fourth fiscal quarters.

Most of the job cuts will be in the company's Israeli outfit.

Amdocs is expected to compete the process within a few days. It has set up a support center for its fired staffers.

For the time being the company declines to comment.

The company warned that its third quarter revenues will be only $380 million, compared with earlier estimates of $420 million. Its fourth quarter revenues, it said, are expected to be $350 million to $360 million, against the previous estimate of $430 million.
