The flash memory devices will be used to store code and data for Cisco's networking systems. AMD, a chipmaker, signed the original flash memory supply agreement with networking company Cisco in March.

Shares of AMD were recently up 94 cents, or 6.2%, to $16.19 in

New York Stock Exchange

trading. Cisco gained $1.81, or 4.2%, to $44.75 in

Nasdaq

activity.
