NEW YORK (
could be looking to expand into gadgets beyond the Kindle.
Amazon's job board is advertising for several positions within its Lab126, the division responsible for the Kindle, which could be used to build other electronics, according to the
New York Times
, which cited sources familiar with the matter.
The article said Amazon might build more devices for reading books, as well as listening to music and watching movies. It could also enter the mobile phone marker.
If true, the move would increase Amazon's competition with Apple, which Amazon has been aggressively fighting since the launch of the iPad.
