Altera (ALTR) - Get Report was down 1.3% in preopen Island trading. After the close Thursday the specialty chipmaker said it expects second-quarter revenue to decline about 25% from the first quarter's $287.4 million. Altera previously expected a decline of 20%. The forecast would imply revenue of about $215.5 million. Thomson Financial/First Call says analysts expect revenue of $237.8 million, down from $340.7 million a year ago.

Analysts currently expect earnings of 10 cents a share, compared with 25 cents a year ago.
