said it received a letter from ValueAct Capital offering to acquire the company's shares it doesn't already own for $23 each.

In a short statement, the Little Rock, Ark., company said its board will review the letter in accordance with its fiduciary obligations.

Shares of the technology and database services provider were up 71 cents, or 3.4%, to $21.40. The 52-week range is $16.15 to $27.14.

ValueAct Capital owned about 11% of Acxiom's shares as of March 31.

Separately, Acxiom said it expects to issue its fiscal first-quarter earnings July 20 after the market closes. A conference call will be held the same day.
