And the Oscar Goes to Movie-Theater Chain Cinemark for Having One Hot Stock

While the coveted golden statuettes are changing hands at the Academy Awards Sunday, consider profits coming from where those awardees' works are shown: movie-houses.

This year's "Oscar" goes to Cinemark Holdings Inc. (CNK) . Fourth-quarter admission sales rose 4.5%. Concession revenues popped 10%, the 44th straight quarter of year-over-year growth, says analyst James Goss of Barrington Research. A new loyalty program launched in the quarter racked up 120,000 members in 80 days.

Cinemark's stock price this year: up a cool 19%.
