SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., March 01, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Meritage Homes Corporation (NYSE:MTH), a leading U.S. homebuilder, today announced its intention to offer, subject to market and other conditions, $300 million aggregate principal amount of senior unsecured notes due 2028 (the "notes") to qualified institutional buyers pursuant to Rule 144A under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the "Securities Act"), and outside the United States to persons other than U.S. persons in reliance upon Regulation S under the Securities Act. Final terms of the notes, including the interest rate, maturity date and other terms, will be determined through negotiations between Meritage and the initial purchasers of the notes. Meritage intends to use the net proceeds from the offering of the notes to repay outstanding borrowings under its revolving credit facility of $250 million, including $175 million of borrowings from the redemption of the Company's 4.50% Senior Notes due 2018, which was completed on February 26, 2018, and the remainder for general corporate purposes.
