Toyota Motor (TM)  continues to nail it.

Toyota lived up to its reputation for reliability and style, according to a new report from Consumer Reports, which ranked the Corolla top compact car for 2018. The company's midsize sedan the Camry and minivan the Sienna also took home top awards.

"The Camry has earned its reputation as a competent, well-rounded family sedan," Consumer Reports wrote. "With its recent redesign, Toyota added more styling flair and handling acumen." The improvement apparently did not go unnoticed.

The news arrives at a good time for Toyota.

The sedan car market, long dominated by Toyota and Honda (HMC) , is coming under pressure from Korean makes. Further, the shift toward SUVs has hurt sedan sales. But, the reliability of Japanese cars continues to keep them in favor among consumers.

In the case of Toyota, investors appear to notice.

Toyota's stock is one of the best-performing auto stocks this year, rising 5.3%. The S&P 500 has been flat on the year. Ford's (F) shares have plunged 16% this year, while General Motors (GM) has shed 2%.
