LONDON and CARLSBAD, Calif., Feb. 05, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GW Pharmaceuticals plc (NASDAQ:GWPH) (GW, the Company or the Group), a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing novel therapeutics from its proprietary cannabinoid product platform, announces financial results for the first quarter ended 31 December 2017.

"With the Epidiolex regulatory applications accepted for review in both the US and Europe, and an assigned mid-year FDA decision date, 2018 is expected to be an exciting year for our Company with an anticipated first U.S. approval and launch.   • Cash and cash equivalents at 31 December 2017 of £414.8 million ($559.2 million) compared to £241.2 million as at 30 September 2017.
