Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) is pushing deeper into food following its purchase of Whole Foods Market Inc. (WFM) , announcing a partnership with New York-based food delivery service Olo to list Olo's clients on the Amazon Restaurants food delivery section of its website.
The news sent food delivery service GrubHub Inc. (GRUB) shares falling about 2% in morning trading Friday.
"We are excited to leverage Olo's digital ordering technology and continue rapidly growing our network of restaurants to give Amazon Prime members more options for fast delivery from their favorite brands," Amazon Restaurants GM Gus Lopez said.
Shares of Amazon were down 0.2% to $962.78 Friday morning.
