Apple (AAPL) on Tuesday dropped its highly-anticipated iOS 11 software update, available across its iPhone and iPad devices.

The software update, available for all the latest and yet to be delivered Apple iPhones and iPads, is also available for devices going back to the iPhone 5s, fourth-Generation iPad, iPad Mini 2 and sixth-Gen iPod Touch.

Some of the features you may not be aware of upon downloading the most recent update are:

The Ability to Share Wi-Fi Passwords with Nearby Devices
Yes, no longer will you need to ask your friends for their passwords when going over their house. All you'll need is a fellow iPhone user running iOS 11.

Customizable Screenshots
Screenshots have long been a staple of iOS, but now Apple has taken them to a new level. Users can now draw on any screenshot to emphasize various aspects of the photos.

Updated Airplane Mode
No longer will users have to, upon switching their phone to Airplane Mode, re-active either Bluetooth or Wifi, an annoyance which has long plagued earlier versions of iOS.

The One-Handed Keyboard
This new iOS 11 feature compacts the keyboard to either left or right of the screen making it easier to type using one hand.

New Screen Animations for iMessage
The new screen effects were first added to iOS 10, which included animations like confetti and fireworks, is now updated with brand new animations including a new spotlight.

Scanning QR Codes in the Camera
No longer will you need to download a third-party app to screen various QR readers.

Drag and Drop Photos to Albums
Before, users would need to select the pictures and then open the album to place the image. With iOS 11 this is as easy as just selecting the photo and dragging into the desired album.

Maps for Airports
One of the coolest features iOS 11 boasts is an all-new maps feature for exploring various locations in places like airports to easily navigate your way to the nearest food court or bar.

Zoom in on Maps Using Only Your Thumb
Users will no longer be forced to drag with two fingers to zoom into and inspect a map, with iOS 11 that is as easy as just moving your thumb across the map.

Shares of Apple closed higher on Tuesday.
