Twitter Inc. (TWTR) has become the home of the National Basketball Association, league commissioner Adam Silver said at Recode's Code Commerce forum Wednesday. 

The NBA currently does not have a streaming deal with the social media service, but that could change as sports leagues look to increase their revenue by selling streaming rights. 

Last year Twitter showed Thursday night NFL games, but that contract has moved over to Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) . Twitter could be in the running for a streaming deal with the NBA as it looks to boost user engagement.
