Molson Coors Brewing Co. (TAP) is interested in possibly purchasing 300-year-old British cider company Aspall Cyder, according to Sky News.

Sources told Sky that Aspall's board has been engaged in discussions with potential bidders for much of the past year, including both private equity investors and major breweries like Molson Coors.

The U.K.'s cider market saw a 2.1% jump in value in 2016 and the sector is worth about 2.88 billion pounds, according to the Westons Cider Report.

Aspall is estimated to have an enterprise value of more than 40 million pounds and employs about 120 people.

Molson shares were down 0.83% to $88.94 in midday trading Wednesday.
