South Carolina-Owned Santee Cooper Receives Acquisition Interest
Duke Energy is a potential acquirer of Santee Cooper.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster and state-owned power provider Santee Cooper say they are in talks with other power companies for a possible sale.

McMaster listed fellow power companies Duke Energy Corp. (DUK) of Charlotte, Southern Power Co. of Atlanta and Dominion Energy Inc. (D) of Richmond, VA as being potential sale partners.

"We have heard from two interested parties and are beginning our own outreach to others," Santee Cooper spokeswoman Mollie Gore said Wednesday, according to the South Carolina Post and Courier.
