New York-based media company Hearst Communications Inc. has led a $133 million investment into iflix, a Malaysian video-on-demand service focused on emerging markets, Reuters reports.
Other new investors in iflix include Singapore-based financial institution EDBI and clients of Singapore's DBS private bank.
Existing shareholders Sky PLC (SKYAY , Liberty Global (LILA - Get Report) and Philippians telecommunications company PLDT Inc (PHI - Get Report) have each increased their investments in iflix as well.
The investment brought the total funding raised by iflix in 2017 to over than $220 million.
