Hearst Leads Investment into Malaysian Streaming Video Service
Hearst joins Sky and Liberty Global to invest in the Malaysian streaming company.

New York-based media company Hearst Communications Inc. has led a $133 million investment into iflix, a Malaysian video-on-demand service focused on emerging markets, Reuters reports.

Other new investors in iflix include Singapore-based financial institution EDBI and clients of Singapore's DBS private bank.

Existing shareholders Sky PLC (SKYAY) , Liberty Global (LILA) and Philippians telecommunications company PLDT Inc (PHI) have each increased their investments in iflix as well. 

The investment brought the total funding raised by iflix in 2017 to over than $220 million.
