Compañia de Minas Buenaventura S.A.A. ("Buenaventura" or "the Company") (NYSE: BVN; Lima Stock Exchange: BUE.LM), Peru's largest publicly-traded precious metals mining company, today announced the appointment of Mr. Gonzalo Eyzaguirre as Vice President of Operations, effective on July 1, 2017 and approved at the Company's Board meeting held on June 28, 2017. In his new role, Mr. Eyzaguirre will be responsible for Buenaventura´s wholly owned operating units as well as the operating units of Buenaventura´s subsidiaries. Prior to assuming his new role at Buenaventura, Mr. Eyzaguirre was the General Manager of Sociedad Minera el Brocal since October 2014. He also held positions of increasing responsibility including Mine Superintendent, Operations Manager and ultimately as General Manager at Gold Fields' Cerro Corona operation located in Cajamarca, northern Peru. Mr. Eyzaguirre began his career with Minera Yanacocha S.R.L. in Cajamarca, where he held various positions over a period of more than seven years. Mr. Eyzaguirre received an undergraduate degree in Mining Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru in 1995. He holds an MBA from York University's Schulich School of Business in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and completed Harvard Business School's General Management Program.
