Digital Realty  (DLR) announced that is has agreed to buy fellow data center operator DuPont Fabros Technology  (DFT) for $7.6 billion on Friday. 

Dupont Fabros shares were up double digits premarket following the announcement. 

DuPont Fabros shareholders will receive a fixed exchange ratio of 0.545 Digital Realty shares per share held. Based on Digital Realty's closing price of $118.02 on Thursday. The deal is worth about $63.60 per share, a premium of 14.9% over DuPont Fabros' previous closing price. 

Digital Realty shares were up more than 4% in premarket trading Friday.
