Express Scripts (ESRX) is teaming with 600 employers and health plans to launch a program aimed at patients who are newly prescribed opioids to ensure that they do not become addicted to the drugs, Fox Business News reported Wednesday.
"We are bringing together data analytics, behavioral science...and then importantly a direct line to specialist pharmacists in neuroscience for every one of these patients to help at the front end ensure that they use the products appropriately and understand the products," CEO Tim Wentworth said during an interview with Fox Business.
The CDC estimates that 90 people a day die from opioid overdoses.
