Apple and Amazon Bury the Hatchet - Apple TV to Be Compatible With Amazon Prime Video
Users will now be able to play their Amazon Prime Video content through Apple TV

Apple  (AAPL) CEO Tim Cook led off his keynote address at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday with surprise news that users will now be able to stream their Amazon (AMZN)  Prime Video content on their Apple TV set top boxes.

The announcement marks what could be a truce between the two tech giants and their TV ambitions. In 2015, Amazon halted sales of Apple's set top Apple TV box on its website because the device was incompatible with Amazon's video app.

"We want our player, our Prime Video player, to be on the device, and we want it to be on the device with acceptable business terms ... And if you can't, then we don't want to sell it to our customers, because they're going to be buying it thinking they can watch Prime Video and then they're going to be disappointed," Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said at the time.
