Chipotle (CMG - Get Report) was the victim of a cyberattack, the fast food restaurant announced Friday, which resulted in hackers stealing payment card information, including its number, expiration date and internal verification codes, from payment systems at some of its restaurants between March 24 and April 18 this year.
Chipotle's investigation revealed that the malware attack searched for track data from the magnetic stripe of payment cards at some of its Chipotle and Pizzeria Locale restaurants. The company said that the malware has since been removed.
Chipotle shares were down 0.25% on Friday afternoon.
