Italian Tax Police Seize Documents from IBM Milan Office in BT Italy probe

Italian investigators have seized documents from the Milan offices of IBM (IBM) in conjunction with an investigation into allegations of fraud at one of its customers, BT Italy, a unit of Britain's BT Group (BT) , Reuters reports.

BT Group is the owner of British Telecommunications, a British multinational telecommunications services firm.

Dozens of tax police visited the Italian offices of nine suppliers to BT Italy, including the U.S. tech firm, and seized boxes of documents.

IBM spokesman Alessandro Ferrari said the company was cooperating with authorities.

IBM is not formally under investigation, and none of its representatives have been accused of wrongdoing, but the warrant for the seizures, states that some transactions between BT Italy and its suppliers were forged.
