Facebook Wins Dismissal of Lawsuits Tied to Terrorism

U.S. District Judge Nicholas Garaufis in Brooklyn dismissed two lawsuits today accusing Facebook (FB) of supporting terrorist groups by allowing them to use its social media platform to further their attacks against Jews, Reuters reports.

Judge Garaufis dismissed a lawsuit brought on behalf of about 20,000 Israeli citizens and a lawsuit by family members and the estates of victims of attacks by Hamas.

The plaintiffs in the first lawsuit lacked standing to pursue their claims in federal court, and that Facebook was exempt from claims in the second lawsuit, the judge said.
