In the past century, public health initiatives have improved lives worldwide, including increasing life expectancy by almost 30 years in the United States. 1 Public health professionals transform healthcare by protecting and caring for communities through the promotion of healthy lifestyles and the research and prevention of infectious diseases. Public health professionals also focus on food safety and advancements in environmental protection, and advocate for policy changes that impact the health and wellness of populations. As the global population grows, so does the need for additional public health professionals and the services and care they provide. The MPH degree program is a 42-credit-hour degree program including practicum fieldwork.
