Shares of Costco (COST) were rising 2.70% to $171.51 during morning trading on Thursday after the wholesale retailer reported an increase in March sales numbers.

March U.S. sales increased 9% to $11.64 billion, while U.S. same-store sales during the month jumped 7%. 

Excluding impacts from changes in gasoline prices and foreign exchange sames-store sales for U.S. in March was 6%.
