Research firm Bernstein has lowered its rating on five top food brand names as it sees weaker industry trends.

Conagra  (CAG - Get Report)  , General Mills  (GIS - Get Report)  , Campbell  (CPB - Get Report)  , Kellogg  (K - Get Report) and J.M. Smucker (SJM - Get Report) have all been downgraded to "underperform" from "market perform."

The firm believes that a recent downturn in sales is reflective of ongoing consumer behavior, which is turning toward fresher and more health conscience food choices.
