Softbank Drops $100 Million Investment in iPhone Rival

Softbank  (SFTBY) is rescinding its $100 million investment in smartphone startup and potential iPhone rival Essential Products as the company continues to cultivate a relationship with Apple  (AAPL) , according to the Wall Street Journal

The investment would have valued Essential Products at about $1 billion.
