Amazon Studios (AMZN) has acquired the distribution rights to the film Annette, which stars Girl with the Dragon Tattoo's Rooney Mara and The Force Awakens actor Adam Driver. The film is a "music filled drama," in which singer Rihanna also has a role, according to Variety.

The movie will begin filming this spring and comes as Amazon's streaming service saw some success with films such as "Manchester by the Sea" at this season's Oscars. Amazon didn't stream the film but did previously win the distribution rights.
