American Express  (AXP) shares were up 0.37% premarket after the company announced that it will be boosting the benefits on its Platinum charge card for the second time since October. The move is expected to help the company better compete with JPMorgan Chase's  (JMP) popular Sapphire Reserve card.

The changes will go into effect March 30.
