WATERBURY, Conn., Dec. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Therap's new series of courses on Secure Communication include introductory and administrative management of the Secure Communication (SComm) module on Therap. Courses offer Therap users step-by-step instructions on how to effectively compose and send messages, manage their inbox, and comply with HIPAA when communicating with other agency staff or assigned users. These courses are designed to help staff become knowledgeable about the different options available on Therap for service-relevant communication, as well as communications affecting day-to-day operations. The new Training Academy SComm series, available at no cost to Therap users, offers Direct Support Professionals and other service professionals providing supports to individuals with developmental disabilities and other Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) needs an effective and consistent quality learning tool for new staff familiarizing themselves with the electronic documentation system. Users learn how to share general and individual specific information and attach internal files, individual-specific plans, forms and reports from multiple Therap modules securely to supervisors, co-workers or target recipients. With the Secure Communication series of courses, Therap launches a new training format aimed at engaging users using interactive, easy-to-follow instructions that is on-demand and available to re-take as often as desired. With agency training costs, staffing coverage and staff travel to and from training locations in mind, Therap's new course structure offers the same training content and objectives users would find at agency new hire training or Therap regional conferences, but via the user's flexible on-demand schedule, at their convenience from work sites across the community. Therap's Training Academy now offers over 60 self paced, on-demand courses since its launch in 2015. In addition to the Communication series, additional course topics include incident reporting, employment, health tracking, individual support plans, attendance, person centered documentation, and behavior tracking, among others. Additionally, Therap has worked with the State of Washington to offer Continuing Education Units for select courses for eligible users.
